Our Values
The Way We Do Business
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner and investment advisor representative, I’m held to a fiduciary standard – legally required to act in my clients’ best interests. The guidance I work to provide is independent, transparent, and focused on recommendations that are designed to help benefit the families I serve.
I’m Stephen Cash, and Cash Private Wealth is founded on these core values:
Family First
Family is central to everything I do, and it’s central to the conversations I have with clients. Every person I meet talks about family: parents, siblings, partners, children, grandchildren.
That’s why people save, invest, and plan: to support the people they love, to enjoy their money with them while they’re alive, or to leave a legacy for the next generation. My entire approach is built on educating first, planning thoughtfully and intentionally across all facets of life, and helping families make confident, tax‑smart decisions that can help support them for generations.
Clarity
A mentor once told me that if you can’t explain something on a single sheet of paper with a crayon to a younger person, you’re not explaining it clearly enough.
That’s the standard I hold myself to. I take complicated financial and tax concepts and simplify them so clients can understand the options and make decisions.
Whenever I sit across the table from someone, I think of my own family, especially my mom, and how I would explain things to her. That perspective keeps me grounded, empathetic, and focused on making complex decisions simple.
Attention to Detail
Once I understand a client’s full picture — assets, liabilities, income today and in the future, goals, and what they want to accomplish — I build planning recommendations across four main areas: taxes, retirement income, investments, and estate planning.
A key part of my process is illustrating the potential dollar impact of thoughtful planning. That can include reducing taxes over a lifetime, increasing investable assets so one can potentially spend or gift more, passing wealth to the next generation more efficiently, or managing estate tax issues.
Before we start to implement any plan, I outline my recommendations from a high-level view and quantify the impact in straightforward terms. I pair this with a high-level overview of the financial plan. My goal is to make the planning process and recommendations clear and understandable.
Details matter, but simplicity rules.
Discipline + Education
I’m a big believer in financial education for everyone. People need to understand financial and tax concepts before recommendations can make sense.
Making portfolio suggestions first is like a doctor prescribing medication without understanding your symptoms. When you go to the doctor, you get a health check, understand what needs to change, take the right steps, and hopefully, increase your longevity and quality of life.
Financial planning works much the same way. Disciplined decisions today may help support more years of financial freedom, help reduce stress, and provide you more ways to take care of the people you care about.
